I hired Simply Enough to organize our office as a special gift for my husband. He was working from home full time and the space was overcrowded and filled with mostly my items. I am the packrat of the two of us and I knew I needed some help sorting, organizing, and most importantly – getting rid of some items. Amy gave us some manageable pre-work to prep the space, which was the perfect way to get started. On the day of organizing, we worked hand in hand with Amy to clear things out and keep what was most useful, but we put it back in an organized manner. When I got stuck, Amy took the time to nudge me through the tough decisions and helped me see what things I was hanging on to for no good reason. I needed this helping hand approach as opposed to a “dump and move forward” approach. I so appreciated the extra time she took with me to accomplish the goals. And she left with a car full of donation items so I didn’t need to worry about taking them. The best part is that we learned some systems and best practices that have been helping us move through other areas of our home. I highly recommend Simply Enough. Amy’s services are extremely valuable and the investment is one that will last for years.
Amy was the first professional organizer, who, right away, I could see hiring for myself. From just initial conversations, she would mention some approaches where I’d think, “Hey, I can do that!” Because let’s be honest, the idea of organizing a home can be super overwhelming. But the way she explained everything, in a non-judgemental way, made me feel like she could help me get a great start on organizing my home. And I didn’t feel like I had to do the entire house, I realized even just a bit would make a difference. I was right.
Amy helped me organize my kids’ craft/homework room and gave me some tips around the whole house. She not only gave me advice, but she sat next to me helping me re-sort and get rid of what didn’t matter. She came in with boxes dedicated to sorting and broke the task down in little digestible projects. She helped me create a more peaceful and productive space over which my children now feel ownership and attainable responsibility. It doesn’t have to look perfect. But it was an age-appropriate solution for kids: They know where to put stuff. It’s sustainable.
Even more, Amy lit my fire to do more organizing! She gave me tricks to apply to other messes. I am able to look at the space differently and restructure the storage. Our space works better for us, it’s easy to maintain, and most importantly, I feel so much calmer when I come home after an insane day of work.

Amy’s virtual organizing services were perfect for my situation! For months (and really YEARS) I’d been stepping over endless boxes of paper, office supplies, arts and crafts, and unfinished projects cluttering up my home office, but every time I’d start trying to make a dent in the project, I’d lose focus, give up, and end up piling even more into the mix.
Amy helped me to understand how freeing it would be to finish this project, and she made each step manageable by breaking things down into bite-sized projects. She wrote a plan that I could easily run with myself, but honestly, I know I would’ve gotten distracted without her text reminders, encouragement, and knowing she’d hold me accountable with our weekly meetings.
Amy, I have to tell you, I’ve been reading your posts and with our upcoming move you have inspired me to purge things I have held on to for years because “I might use that someday.” Your gift bag purge the other day was just what I needed to purge a box of gift bags, etc that I haven’t used. It felt great! Thank you!!!

I don’t post much but am very thankful for the motivation you have provided Amy. Every day feels more refreshing just getting rid of the things we don’t need.

My friend, Amy Slenker-Smith, started a business about living simply by reducing the clutter in your home and life. Check out Amy’s Page Simply Enough. She has been posting some awesome things lately on organizing your closet space. When we moved into this house, I worried about the size of this closet and the amount of clothes I had… well, I now have two seasons of clothes (cold weather and warm weather) and the season fits in my closet, I have super cute things in there that I LOVE to wear. There are no “just in case” clothes in here.

Just wanted to let you know that your talk really struck a cord – I spent evenings and nap times this weekend reducing my closet and it feels amazing! I’ve complained since we moved into this house that the closets are waaayy too small, but when I started to think about how much I actually need I was able to cut back and now have room to spare! I NEVER thought my husband and I could share this little closet – we’ve previously overtaken the guest bedroom closet too! There’s still lots to be done, but my husband got in on it too and between the 2 of us we have 5.5 trash bags of clothes to donate. That was disturbing. I kept only a few extra hangers and put a note on them to remind myself to re-evaluate my closet before adding more hangers 😛 Next stop…basement storage – yay! Thanks for getting the ball rolling for me – I’ll continue to watch your FB page for more advice!

We had the privilege of having Amy come speak to our Mom’s group. During her talk, she provided actionable tips on how to declutter our lives & homes to reduce the amount of time spent managing and organizing STUFF. Her delivery was authentic as she shared her personal journey and how she started “living differently” which resonated well with our audience. I highly recommend her as a speaker as she’s able to present in a way that makes the topic of decluttering and organization possible….one step at a time.
